Carmen Ranch
Located in the tiny town of Joseph, at the very very furthers northeastern reaches of the state of Oregon, I first met and collaborated with the wonderful folks from Carmen Ranch when i shot my first cookbook, Pure Beef, written by Lynne Curry. Last year I was hired by the Dig Inn restaurant group out of Boston and New York, to document a trip their chef and several business partners were making to research Carmen Ranch’s sustainable grass fed cattle raising techniques. I met some incredible people and got a first hand view behind the curtain at what it takes to make a small family run ranch survive in this day and age.
